During the scorching summer months, our Heat Stroke Relief Camp provides much-needed hydration, medical care, and shelter to those most affected by extreme heat. We focus on supporting outdoor workers, laborers, and the homeless during dangerous heatwaves, ensuring their safety and well-being.
As extreme temperatures gripped South Punjab during the scorching months of May, June, and July 2024, Team Infinity Welfare Foundation swiftly responded to the growing threat of heat strokes. Recognizing the urgent need to protect vulnerable individuals from the devastating effects of heat, we launched the Heat Stroke Relief Camp initiative.
Our first camp was organized on May 19, 2024, in Bahawalpur, where we provided chilled drinks and fresh water to those most affected by the blistering heat. From hospital attendants and laborers to drivers and workers, hundreds found relief through our efforts. On that day, the Assistant Commissioner of Bahawalpur honored us with a visit and applauded our esteemed president and management team for their tireless work. As the weather grew harsher, with temperatures soaring to 50°C on June 1st, 2024.
Our team remained steadfast. During the peak hours of sunlight, we served over 3,000 people with chilled drinks, offering them a lifeline in the intense heat. Despite the challenging conditions, our commitment to serving the community never wavered. This effort continued on a weekly basis, ensuring that relief was available throughout the heatwave until the weather conditions and heat stroke alerts subsided. Through this initiative, Team Infinity stands by its mission to protect and uplift our communities in times of crisis.
Impact on the Community
Throughout the duration of these camps, we served hundreds of people, providing relief and critical medical support at a time when the heat was at its peak. The proactive efforts of our volunteers and healthcare partners ensured that the community had access to safe and supportive resources during a potentially deadly heatwave.
